We subscribe to the principle that that good work is good for people, and that a person’s experience at work influences their Mental Health, as well as performance and productivity.
APS operates in alignment with the definitions and guidelines of the WHO and National Communications Charter for Mental Health and Suicide. We appreciate that Mental Health is a positive concept, and that mental ill-health does not discriminate, nor preclude someone from being a great contributor and performer. While most workplace Mental Health related programs focus exclusively on 1 in 5 people who may experience a mental health condition each year, our programs and approaches are based on supporting the needs of 5 in 5 people.
We achieve this by adopting a psychosocially focussed approach that promotes early intervention and prevention of mental -ill health and psychosocial concerns and by supporting the positive and protective elements of work. Our approach enables people and organisations to positively influence their psychosocial environments and understand the factors that can influence people’s mental health and wellbeing. We’re committed to improving people’s experience of work the mitigation of psychosocial risk and enhancing psychosocial climate to improve performance, engagement, productivity and the best possible mental health outcomes.
APS approach aligns and integrates with most contemporary Psychological Health & Safety Frameworks (I.e., Safe Work Australia, Thrive, Integrated Model) and can be customised to maximise integration with your existing psychological health and safety infrastructure and the risk profile and preferences of your organisation. While our approach and programs assist organisations to meet their regulatory and compliance obligations when it comes to workplace mental health, we go well beyond compliance to genuinely and measurably influence people’s experience of work.
