Companies need to ‘fix’ work not their workers. David Burroughs – The Australian

According to David Burroughs in The Australian Newspaper, Companies need to go beyond counselling for stressed workers and radically rethink the way we work.

The Australian: David Burroughs was Westpac’s first chief mental health officer when the role was created four years ago. He is an organisational and clinical psychologist who has worked in the military and medical legal and corporate roles for almost 20 years. Burroughs has had an interesting career trajectory, even working as a bobcat driver at one point. In 2004 he established one of Australia’s first firms specialising in the early intervention and prevention of workplace mental ill health, which he sold in 2016. Outside Westpac, Burroughs says he spends time on behavioural ethics, men’s mental health, risk mitigation, business commercialisation and mentoring.
